I'm Michael Hoster, a photographer and filmmaker documenting my adventures in an effort to convey the beauty of God's creation.

An EXPEDITIONist on the frontier

I first fell in love with photography in high school, photographing a thunderstorm with my mother's old Canon Rebel. Since then, I have been mastering my craft and finding what I love most, landscape and adventure photography and using them as mediums to provide inspiring brand imagery for brands in the outdoor industry. I have also stepped into the filmmaking world to document my adventures in a new way. Although I do not shoot exclusively on one or the other, my work contains both digital and film photography and I have enjoyed progressing towards a more analog workflow.

FAQ

1. Can I commission a custom photoshoot or project?

Yes absolutely! If you have a specific shot in mind, I can bring it to life to hang on your wall. I also specialize in capturing outdoor brands being used in their environment for inspiring product / brand photos.

2. What equipment do you use for your photography?

I use an array of equipment ranging from 50 year old film cameras to the most modern mirrorless cameras with extremely high Megapixel counts for large prints. I enjoy shooting on both digital and film, depending on the project. I also often utilize drones for my projects with local regulations allow.

3. How do you handle image licensing and rights?

I can license photos for limited use such as social media only or license use for marketing purposes such as ad campaigns, website use, and even billboards.

4. how much do you charge?

It really depends on the scope of the project. Because of the variety of my work, I custom quote each project individually.
